Bicycle Rodeo: Washington Park & Community Center

Come out to the Bicycle Rodeo! This outdoor event is a free event that invites the youths of the community to come out with their bikes and helmets and learn bicycle safety techniques. Volunteers are needed to assist with games, distribute prizes, and refreshments.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Lend a hand as a parade marshal or banner carrier at this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Concert. The parade will showcase Irish culture through live performances, dance, costumes, and music. Come join the fun!

Hollywood Beach Cleanups: Keep Broward Beautiful!

Join us in keeping Hollywood’s beach clean! Groups are welcome to join us! Volunteers are needed to collect liter along the beach. Before the beach clean-up, Keep Broward Beautiful will provide an informative presentation.

Date: Saturdays, April 3rd, May 8th, June 12th, July 10th, & August 14th

Time: 9:00am to 12:00pm (noon)

Number of Volunteers: 30 volunteers per project

Expo Alfresco

Come assist with Expo Alfresco at ArtsPark at Young Circle. This food tasting event will feature over 40 restaurants giving out samples of their delicious cuisines. Volunteers are needed to assist vendors, help with set-up and break-down, distribute food, supervise children area, and run errands throughout the event. You must be 16 years old or older to volunteer.

Department: Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce

Date: Wednesday, April 28th

Time: There are three shifts available from 7:30am to 9:00pm.

Shifts: 7:30am – 11:30am; 1pm to 5pm; & 5:00pm – 9:00pm

Number of Volunteers Needed: 10-15 volunteers per shift

Welcome Center Attendant

Department: Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency

Days: Mondays & Tuesdays

Time: 12:00pm (noon) – 4:00pm

Volunteer Description: Volunteer will provide local information to tourists, visitors, and residents. In addition, volunteers will conduct surveys and assist CRA staff members.

Age Requirement: At least 21 years old or older

Office Volunteer

Department: Fire Rescue & Beach Safety, Department

Volunteer Description: Volunteer will file documents and perform other clerical duties.

College Intern

Department: Intergovernmental Affairs

Days: Monday – Friday (days flexible)

Time: 9:00am to 4:00pm (hours flexible)

Volunteer Description: Intern will work on documenting and researching the City’s green practices and initiatives for the FGBC application. Candidates should be majoring in urban planning, engineering, or environmental studies.

Age Requirement: At least 18 years old or older

German Translator

Department: Records & Archive Division

Days: Monday – Friday (days flexible)

Time: 8:00am to 4:00pm (hours flexible)

Volunteer Description: Volunteers will translate German documents and scrapbooks by a renowned Hollywood photographer. Proficiency in Microsoft Word is required.

Age Requirement: At least 14 years old or older

Relay for Life

American Cancer Society

Lend a hand at American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Volunteers are needed to assist with various activities through the event. Volunteer schedules are very flexible. Give a full day or a few hours.

Age requirement: 16 years of age or older

Number of Volunteers Needed: As many as possible

Time Commitment: Friday, March 5th from 2pm – 11pm or Saturday, March 6th from 6am – 12pm (flexible/based on your schedule)

22nd Annual Maroone Hispanic Fest

Hispanic Unity of Florida

Broward County's largest one-day Hispanic festival, the Maroone Hispanic Fest celebrates Hispanic culture and traditions and features live music, delicious food, salsa dance lessons, arts & crafts, and children's entertainment. The event is a fundraiser to support Hispanic Unity of Florida’s year-round programming. Volunteers are needed to assist in the many areas of the festivals such as VIP tent, main entrance, ticket sales, entrance ticket takers, distribution of drinks, booths, or children's entertainment. All volunteers will receive a FREE festival t-shirt, refreshments, a meal, and two complimentary tickets to this exciting event. There is a mandatory training on Tuesday, March 23rd at 6pm to 9pm.

College Summit: Volunteer Coaches Needed

College Summit is a national nonprofit organization that partners with schools and districts to strengthen college-going culture and increase college enrollment rates. Volunteer college and writing coaches are needed to assist the students in completion of college applications, personal essays, and workshop assignments. Summit workshops will take place from June 17th to July 18th at University of Miami, Barry University, and NOVA.

Volunteer Tour Guide

Hollywood Historical Society

Give guided tours of the Hammerstein House, a historical home. Volunteers must be interested in the history of Hollywood and able to memorize a script.
