Hollywood Beach Cleanup: Keep Broward Beautiful!

Join us in keeping Hollywood’s beach clean! Groups are welcome to join us! Volunteers are needed to collect litter along the beach. Before the beach clean-up, Keep Broward Beautiful will provide an informative presentation.

Department: Public Works

Date: Saturday, August 14th

Time: 9:00am to 12:00pm (noon)

Number of Volunteers: 30 volunteers per project

Age Requirement: At least 8 years old or older

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: SUMMER OPPORTUNITY

The listing below is a summer assignment organized by Volunteer Hollywood. The listing is offered to high school students during the summer.

 

Office Volunteer

Department: Public Works – Buildings & Grounds
Days: Monday – Friday (flexible – based on your schedule)

Time: 8:00am – 5:00pm (flexible – based on your schedule)

Volunteer Description: Volunteers will assist in data entry, entering serial numbers and data. Volunteer must be computer literate, meticulous, and proficient in typing. Training will be provided.

Age Requirement: At least 16 years old or older

Number of Volunteers Needed: 1 – 2

Broward County 25th Annual Coastal Beach Cleanup

Help collect liter and marine debris from the beach shores! No pre-registration required! Volunteers are encouraged to bring hat, sunscreen, gloves, and water.

The Friendship Circle: Friends at Home Program

Friendship Circle is looking to pair Hollywood teens with special needs kids to provide social interaction, mentoring and friendship. The Friends at Home program allow teens to visit a special needs child at his/her home for an hour a week of games, fun, or homework help. There are other programs that need the help of volunteers, such as general social programs, fitness programs, horse programs, birthday programs, and the annual family BBQ.

Age requirement: At least 12 years old or older

Time Commitment: Minimum one hour per week

Administrative or Event Volunteers Needed!

Art & Culture Center of Hollywood

Help by providing administrative or event assistance to the center. Administrative volunteers are needed at least one day per week, 4 hours per day. Event volunteers are needed typically for four to five hours per event. Event volunteers consist of ushers, gallery monitors, parking attendants, or set-up of the event.

Holocaust Documentation & Education Center, Inc.

Lend a hand by volunteering to preserve, educate, document, and research the Holocaust. There are a number of volunteer positions available, such as clerical, translation, editing, and more. Student volunteers are accepted.
